    • On Dec. 6, 2023, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker jointly sent a letter to the Board of Directors of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, the transmission grid operator for most of the Midwest and central U.S., as well as MISO CEO John Bear. The letter calls for MISO to, “without delay,” approve Tranche 2, the next set of multi-billion dollar transmission lines part of MISO’s long-range transmission planning process.
