Statement Regarding Consumers Energy’s Integrated Resource Plan

Liesl Clark, president of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council issued the following statement praising Consumers Energy’s recently announced Integrated Resource Plan, which includes coal plant closures as well as significant investments in renewable energy and demand response.

“Michigan EIBC appreciates the work of Consumers Energy in developing the first Integrated Resource Plan through an open engagement process as laid out by the 2016 energy legislation. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with Consumers Energy as it increases deployment of important advanced energy technologies like energy efficiency, demand response and renewables. Advanced energy contributes to job growth, lower electric bills for Michigan ratepayers, and infrastructure investment in communities hosting renewable energy sites.
