We’re Hiring a Director of Membership and Development

The Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council (Michigan EIBC) and Institute for Energy Innovation (IEI) are  hiring a full-time membership management/development expert to support our expanding work. Collectively, Michigan EIBC and IEI are the voice of the advanced energy industry in Michigan, representing  more than 120 member companies to policy makers, convening thought leaders and experts, crafting  legislation/regulations, educating the public, and providing networking opportunities. Michigan EIBC and IEI  are committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, and to maintaining a working environment that is  inclusive, equitable and welcoming. 

The chosen candidate’s portfolio will include: 

o Recruitment of new member companies 

o Management of memberships including renewals, interfacing with companies, emailing members o CRM management including tracking of campaigns and management of contacts o Management of virtual and in-person events including reaching sponsorship goals, operational  activities, and graphic design (as possible) 

o Basic website management 

o Monitoring and management of Michigan EIBC email account 

o Attendance at virtual and in-person events 

Desired qualifications include: 

o Detail-oriented organizational skills 

o Experience managing large numbers of members or accounts 

o Strong networking and sales abilities 

o Strong written and verbal communication skills 

o Experience with G Suite, graphic design software (e.g., Canva), MailChimp and Salesforce o Ability to balance multiple tasks at once 

o Ability to operate independently in a virtual work environment 

o Willingness to step-in to help with any task to support a small team 

o General knowledge of the advanced energy industry/ability to learn energy policy information 

Benefits: This position offers a competitive salary with generous benefits including vacation (4 weeks paid),  flexible work hours, parental leave, health/dental coverage, retirement contribution matching, cell phone and  internet stipends, and reimbursement for travel expenses and certain office expenses. 

Location: Work from home in a virtual environment. When in-person events resume, the preferred candidate  would be willing/able to attend meetings in the Lansing area approximately twice per month.

Michigan EIBC is governed by a Board of industry  leaders.  

IEI is a Michigan-based non-profit that works to promote greater public understanding of advanced energy  and its economic potential for Michigan, and to inform the policy and public discussion on Michigan’s energy  challenges and opportunities. IEI is governed by a Board of energy leaders with deep connections to industry,  research, finance, and policy.
